The idea for the StrongHer Together series was born from my own experience as I started to lift weights and strength train in my late 30’s. As a climber, yogi, and mama, I use my body daily in various strenuous and funky ways. Picture this scenario: awkwardly reaching in the back seat of the car with my arm internally rotated to grab and lift a backpack to the front seat, so that I can reach to pass that snack, stuffy, marker, etc. to my kids in their carseat 😆
So not only do I need my body to be strong, mobile, and capable to scale rock walls and do yoga poses, I want to be able to lift my not-so-tiny kids; catch myself when I trip walking up my driveway carrying five grocery bags, three water bottles, two backpacks; bend over while I brush my teeth to pick up a toy without my back going out 😬
I’ve always had a capable body and an active lifestyle, but I started to notice tweaks and repetitive injuries that were not only annoying to manage, but also disruptive to my life. I started lifting in earnest (30 to 45-minutes sessions, two or three times a week) and felt my body change: I felt more stable in my core, more supple and strong in my joints, and aware of my strength and capabilities—I felt empowered in my body.
The StrongHer Together programs are about feeling strong and capable in our bodies. Making our joints, muscles, and connective tissue supple and sturdy; building capacity to handle stress and impact that life throws at us.

flexibility vs mobility
Flexibility is your passive range of motion—how far a joint or muscle can move when an external force (like gravity, prop, bodyweight, or any other external influence) moves it for you. Think of sitting in a deep stretch or having someone push your leg up.
Mobility is active, controlled range of motion—it's flexibility combined with strength, stability, and neuromuscular control. It's the ability to actively move into and control positions throughout a range of motion under your own power. building the strength and control within your ranges so you can actually use your flexibility functionally. You're not just bendable; you're strong, controlled, and resilient through every degree of motion.
In the StrongHer Together programs, we focus on building the strength and control within your ranges so you can actually use your flexibility functionally. You're not just bendable; you're strong, controlled, and resilient through every degree of motion.
value of strength training for women
Research is showing that it’s incredibly prudent for women to strength train for bone density, hormone balance, and joint support. It is especially important for women over 35 because it helps:
Maintain muscle mass
Improve bone density
Support hormonal balance
Enhance joint health
Boost metabolism
